Alex & Lee were an amazing duo who began collaborating on found object jewelry in 1970. In the early 1970s the artists were then drawn west to San Francisco where they established their place in the Art to Wear movement championed by Sandra Sakata and her legendary store Obiko. Their work was unisex and was worn by Salvador Dali and admired by people such as Cher and Elton John. In 1981 they designed for Geoffrey Beene's runway and Oscar De La Renta, leading them to win the Cody Award (CFDA Award) in 1982. Sold at Bergdorf Goodman until 1986 , the vintage Alex & Lee pieces are quite rare today.
