Crane Day Hand Weaver Ombre Cocktail Poncho
A rare and jaw-dropping piece from the early 1990s! Designed by Crane Day Hand Weaver from Santa Fe, this poncho has a loose and breathable silhouette and features approximately 2,800 pieces of blue and tan ombre fringe. With about 40 hours of labor to complete, the process begins with a loom which is threaded, from there the garment is woven and the finishings begin. This entails sewing in a silk facing and hand-stitching it down. Then the dress is turned right-side-out on a dress form and the bottom fringe is trimmed. Once that is completed, the 2,800 pieces of fringe on the dress must be hand knotted and manicured for loose threads. A true piece of vintage craftsmanship, this poncho is not only stunning but it will pair perfectly with your favorite Van Cleef & Arpels or Chanel jewelry! Open sizing.
