Gucci Dionysus Mini Red Leather Shoulder Bag Circa 2015
Gucci Dionysus Mini Red Leather Shoulder Bag, circa 2015, was designed by Alessandro Michele and debuted as part of Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection. It was Michele’s first handbag release for the house, helping revitalize Gucci’s aesthetic with his signature “greek-chic” sensibility and maximalist romanticism. Inspired by Greek mythology, the bag features the collection’s signature horseshoe hardware with intricately carved double tiger heads, a reference to Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, celebration, and luxury. According to myth, Dionysus crossed the River Tigris on a great tiger sent by Zeus. This version is accented with Swarovski crystals embedded in the antiqued metal hardware. The front envelope flap opens to reveal a distinctive double-flap configuration, with a front pocket beneath the main closure before the main compartment. Style it's vivid red leather with tailoring by Saint Laurent, outerwear by Max Mara, or a dress by Prada; accessories by Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, or Bottega Veneta make complementary finishing touches.
