THIERRY MUGLER Black Velvet "VAMPIRE" Dress Haute Couture 1981

This is a historic dress by none other than the iconic Thierry Mugler! This is a Haute Couture black velvet dress known as the "Vampire" dress which is documented and dated 1981. The dress has gravity defying low puff sleeves at the elbows which are coupled with the classic Mugler "eye lash" detail of the bustier style top with a deep-v cut and is dramatically highlighted by a hi-low peplum. This is beautifully structured and architectural with a corset and belt cinching the waist for ultimate shape. Hidden hook and eye closure at centre back of bodice with hidden zip at skirt on centre back. This style dress was worn by stars like Natalie Portman and Sydney Sweeney.
