Traditional Japanese Crimson Red & Black Haori Vintage Kimono Jacket
This traditional Japanese crimson red and black vintage haori features classic furisode-style hanging sleeves with deep, squared-off underarms that drape low beside the body. The fabric showcases authentic kumo shibori, a spiderweb tie-dye technique created by tightly binding the fabric before dyeing. This process produces distinctive radiating, starburst-like spikes. Its repeating botanical palm-leaf motif stands out in jet-black dye against a vivid crimson-red backdrop, creating striking, high-contrast color. Dating from the 1940s–1960s, this expressive piece brings vintage Japanese design and craftsmanship to modern styling. Layer it over a simple dress or tailored separates, or pair it with designer pieces by Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake, The Row, or Gucci for a distinctive look.
